Whoville

I helped out with our ward Christmas party this year.  We did a How the Grinch Stole Christmas theme and it turned out so cute I thought I would post some of the pictures here.

I brought the chalk board from my kitchen and made a sign.

The fabulous Melissa Coe built the entrance to Whoville.

She also made the fire place.  And decorated the stage.  We found that sled in the shed at church.  It worked great for a Grinch sled.
Andrea made the tissue paper pompoms and they were hung with lights from the ceiling.

We got some inspiration from the book.  I hung the red garland and tied the bows.  I found huge wreaths at a garage sale.  Those Christmas trees have been around as long as we have lived in this ward.  Almost twelve years.  We use them almost every Christmas.  The super talented Marla Lawson painted them.

We serve Who Hash (funeral potatoes), Who Pudding, and the Grinch (Bishop Roner) carved the Roast Beast.
And our very own Cindy Lou Who sang Where Are You Christmas.  It was such a great party.  A lot of work but always worth it in the end.
