The kids had a four day weekend the second weekend in October. Matt had the same days off of school. That never happens. We took the kids bowling on Monday then headed to the mountains on Tuesday. Our first stop was at Uncle Buck's Corn Maze.
Of course they all had to put their face in the hole and make a ridiculous face.
Caveman:

Sassy:

Rockstar:

Cowboy:

And Baby. He was a little too quick:

Then we got our maps and split up. Boys, girls. Caveman took off without a map. The girls made it to the second check point before he realized he was going in circles.
Eventually, the boys found us. They didn't catch up, they were on the other side of a wall of corn. They passed the little boys to us. Baby was getting tired.

We didn't have much left so Sassy took the map and she a Rockstar finished first. Me and the little boys were about five minutes behind. Then the dad and the Caveman finished about ten minutes later. It was really fun. And since we were there on a Tuesday we had the whole place to ourselves.

We spent about an hour at the corn maze then went to Burt's Pumpkin Farm.
So many pumpkins!

And lots of Indian corn too. It was so pretty.

We went on a hayride.

Then we picked out some pumpkins.

These were the only ones that had Baby in them. He was too busy and had too much to see. I didn't even take pictures of the pumpkins we got. Oh well.
After a quick snack we went to Amicalola Falls. We debated which trail to hike because Baby was getting pretty tired at this point. We decided to hike up to the top of the falls. That trail includes 604 stairs.

He did great. He rode on Matt's shoulders part of the way but he was awesome.

We had to stop for several breaks along the way.

This part of the trail was bouncy. Apparently.

Finally we made it to the top.

We relaxed for a few minutes and the kids played in the water for a bit.

That water was freezing! Eventually, we decided we should walk back down. All 604 steps. It was much faster than going up. But my legs were worn out! I think the kiddos were tired too.

It was such a beautiful place. We will definitely have to go back next fall. But maybe we'll go a couple weeks later when the leaves are changing.

When we got back to the car it was still pretty early so we drove up towards Elijay to pick apples. Those apples right off the tree were so delicious. And the orchard was lovely.

We left the orchard loaded down with fresh apples and tomatoes. And five exhausted kids. We stopped for a quick dinner at Zaxby's then headed home. It was a fantastic day.
