Sassy's eighth grade dance was last week. She was so excited She was on dance committee and helped to plan the whole thing. We had fun shopping for a dress but it was tricky. For one, she is a tiny girl. She doesn't quite fit into junior sizes yet. And while we didn't want to get her a little girl dress, I still wanted her to look her age and not too grown up. I think we did good. My friend Laurie did her hair. Curls and twists. It looked so pretty.
The dress we got was a size three. I took in almost two inches on each side. Tiny girl! She knew she wanted something simple without a lot of sparkle. She said she didn't want to look like Toddlers in Tiaras. Smart girl! We had fun picking out jewelry at Charming Charlie. And found some really cute gold sandles. I think it all came together perfectly She looked so pretty.
She had so much fun. She got home and didn't want to take her dress off because she felt so pretty. And she is. Pretty inside and out. And ready to kiss middle school good bye and move on to high school!
