9 Months

My baby had his nine month doctor visit on Monday. He is growing way too fast! I was hoping that he would keep his baby ways a bit longer but he has other plans. He four big brothers and sisters to keep up with and he is trying his best to be big.

He weighs 21 lbs. 1 oz. and is 29 1/4 inches tall. He is in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th for height. He is pulling up and "cruising". He stands alone for a few seconds. He says dadadada even though I keep trying to get him to say mamamama. He just looks at me crazy and says dadadada. He loves his daddy. Can't say that I blame him, I love his daddy too!
He started climbing the stairs a couple of months ago. He loves to play in the bathroom and in the girls room with the pretend food. He holds on to his walker and pushes it all the way across the living room. He will not be still while I change his diaper. No toy will destract him long enough for me to get him changed. He would much rather be emptying book shelves or pulling every piece of Tupperware out of the kitchen cupboards. I feel like I have been in a wrestling match at the end of a diaper change. I usually win but sometimes let him go without pants or an unsnapped onsie.
He has three teeth and three more on the way. They are so close! And they are coming in out of order which makes a very funny baby smile. He loves baby food. He is starting to love big people food too. He sleeps all night 2-3 nights a week but wakes up at least once the rest of the time. I'm blaming his teeth. But I don't let him cry it out. Cowboy gets mad when I do.
He loves to play peek-a-boo. If I put him in the car and give him his blanket before I buckle him, I can just forget about getting him buckled until he has hid behind his blanket at least three times. He loves it. Thinks it's hilarious and giggles like crazy.
After several months of the "army crawl" he finally got up on his knees this month. And in the past couple of days he's been "crawling like a bear" (as Cowboy puts it) on his hands and feet. And he's so proud of himself.
I can't believe how big he's getting. I wish he'd slow down. But I love watching him grow and learn and discover. He is developing the funnest personality and I'm excited to see the little boy he grows into.

What a sweet boy. I see him at least once a week and each time he has changed just a bit. He is such a good boy!

Wow! Time has flown. I can't believe how big he is too. Maybe it's because I never have met him in person. sniff sniff. Miss you.
