Getting There

So I thought I'd give a little update to how I'm following through with my resolutions. Mostly with goal number 3. Organization. You saw that I got the girls room knocked out. They have still been pretty good about keeping it clean and even when it does get trashed, it's really easy for them to clean up. A place for everything...

I also went through the linen closet in the hall and the one in the bathroom. I also cleaned out the coat closet in the front hall. My garage sale/goodwill pile keeps growing and growing. I cleaned out my craft cabinet too. I wish I had a before picture but I don't. To give you an idea of what it was like my friend Laurie said it was a lot like a giant junk drawer. She was right. It was the craft cabinet and giant catch all. Here's what it looks like now.
All ready for sewing (hey Misty, do you recognize the picture behind the sewing machine?)or scrapbooking

It's a great little work space. Until I have a room completely dedicated to crafting, this totally works.

I also have organized our little home office corner of the living room. I was starting to feel like USB cables, MP3 chargers and the like were going to take over the whole house. A quick trip to IKEA solved that problem though. Now they are all tucked away in their designated box (smaller versions of whats on top of the craft cabinet) on the shelf and I am regaining some sanity. The next project for that area is to reupholster the desk chair. I am thinking about this fabric. I'll probably make some pillows for the couch too.

We went through Cavemans room and got him organized. It looks great but I won't post pictures until we get it painted. We're still deciding on a color. He wants super dark blue or lime green. I'm trying to talk him into something a little more subtle.

I've got my room, the little boys room and the laundry room to go. Hopefully I'll get it all knocked out soon because it's time to start thinking about the garden. And this huge yard needs lots of attention.

So there you have it. A lot done and a lot more to go. But I feel so much better already. I'm getting there.

Looks wonderful. I like the orange fabric. Mike would never let me put that in our house but I love it and think it'd be lots of fun.

Your goal accomplishing is quite inspiring. Thanks. :) Have fun with that garden. I still have a few months to wait to start mine. Maybe May, we'll see. :)

Looking good. I really like the fabric. It definitely has peach in it, but I think it will still go with what you've got going in your house. Keep up the good work, and when you accomplish all your other 100 goals let me know.

Love the fabric for the desk chair! JD's parents, grandparents and aunt were here this weekend. I got some fabric from JoAnn's and made the little cafe shades for the kitchen. I think they turned out good. Your craft space looks awesome. Those pictures look like they belong in Real Simple magazine.
