First we went to the High. They currently have a Monet exhibit. The kids didn't really get it. Until we had them stand across the room. But Monet still wasn't the favorite. We really enjoyed the Louvre exhibit and the Micheal Misrach photography. I love seeing how my kids react to art. What they love and what they don't. After visiting the High we all decided we want to go back to D.C. and visit the National Gallery of Art again. We saw a tiny part of it last summer but didn't have time to see it all. Now we all really want to go back. The Alliance Theatre performed highlights of the upcoming season but we spent too much time in the High and missed it. So the kids had a snack while we waited for the symphony to start. I loved every minute of the symphony. It was so lovely. The first piece they performed was Finale, from William Tell Overture. I wish I had a video camera because Cowboy LOVED it. He was really into it. The other pieces weren't quite as exciting for the kids and Rockstar almost fell asleep but I'm really glad that they were able to experience the symphony.
It was a fantastic night. And it was late when we got home. But it really was worth it.

Those are the kinds of family outings that are fun and educational all at the same time. Glad they enjoyed it. We've never been in all the time we've lived here. I'm going to have to go see the Monet exhibit. He's my FAVORITE.
