Rainy Afternoon

When we got back to Savannah we decided to take a ride on the ferry before the rain started.

The ferry makes three stops on the river and we rode the whole loop. We rode outside at the front of the boat. The kids loved it.

I loved the views of River Street from the river.

The kids wanted to visit the First African Baptist Church. It was part of the Underground Railroad, so the kids were really wanted to take the tour. We got there and found out they only offer two tours a day and we had missed them. So we decided to walk to the Civic Center to meet Caveman for his dinner break. We started the walk and it started to rain. We had our umbrellas so we were okay. At first. There was a lot of thunder and the kids were getting scared. We were trying to hurry. As soon as we got to the Civic Center it started to hail. We took shelter inside for a while and when the rain let up a little bit we went back to River Street for dinner.

After dinner we went back to the hotel so the kids could swim. The pool was soooo warm. It was really relaxing. After the swim the kids were sufficiently worn out and were asleep pretty quick after their baths. Cowboy was pretending to sleep with his rubberband band gun but had a hard time keeping a straight face. Goofball.
